

Jim Craig graduated from Yankton College with a B.A. in Philosophy, and from the University of South Dakota School of Law. He has been practicing law for over 34 years. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the South Dakota Bar Association, The American Bankruptcy Institute, and The National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. Jim served as Chairman of the State Bar’s Debtor-Creditor Committee and continues work on that committee.

Jim is actively involved in professional associations and activities dedicated to improving the practice of bankruptcy. He has extensive bankruptcy experience, having served as president of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees from 1987 to 1988. He was a bankruptcy trustee from 1981 to 1995, having handled thousands of cases. Jim has written several legal works and lectured for bankruptcy trustee symposiums. He has testified before congress on bankruptcy matters.
Jim now serves as counsel for debtors and creditors in chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13.
